JOHN PATRICELLI, PRESIDENT

Growing up on the rough side of town in East Vancouver. John was Born into a family where domestic violence was common, in response to this, he started searching for a way out of the painful life he was living. For a young teenager, that meant hanging out late at night, and drinking to forget the nasty things happening around him. He was an at-risk youth, making many bad choices along the way. Thankfully through the support of friends and family, John turned his life around and became a husband, father and successful Burnaby REALTOR®. In 2017 he was the recipient of Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver REALTORS® Care Award, and was a mentor for the East End Boys Cub of Templeton High School. in addition, John speaks to other East Vancouver high schools about the perils of drinking and drugs and how they can instead choose to create a successful life making positive choices.

 

PHIL MOORE, VICE CHAIR

Phil Moore's distinguished career in real estate and community service is marked by over three decades at RE/MAX, enhanced by his earlier tenure as a Vancouver Police Officer. He's been instrumental at Camp Choice BC, serving as Vice Chair and as a mentor since its inception. As a Director at Large for CREA, he advocates for over 160,000 REALTORS® across Canada. His past presidency and 9-year term on the REBGV board highlight his leadership acumen, augmented by his ICD.D certification. Phil's dedication to youth is also evident through his ongoing mentorship with the Boys Club of East Vancouver since 2018.

 

TOM HERMEZ, TREASURER

Tom Hermez, a dedicated family man with 13 years of marriage and a father to five, serves as the Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Camp Choice BC since its inception as a registered charity in 2020. With 26 years at Bosa Foods, 20 as Financial Controller, Tom's extensive expertise in finance is invaluable to the organization. He's also the founder of a bookkeeping firm, demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to growth. His financial acumen and leadership are essential to steering Camp Choice BC's mission forward.

 

JULIANA VALLÉE, SECRETARY

Juliana, Founder and Director of the Vancity Girls Club, is not only a successful entrepreneur and strategic business coach but also a dedicated advocate for marginalized female youths aged 13 to 22. Despite facing health challenges, including brain surgery and radiation therapy, Juliana has created a lifeline for girls from challenging backgrounds. Through the Vancity Girls Club's program and mentorship initiatives, she provides a safe haven and invaluable opportunities for growth. Juliana's resilience and determination, demonstrated both as a single mother of four and in her professional pursuits, make her a role model for those she serves. Her multifaceted contributions reflect a commitment to fostering personal growth, leadership, and empowerment, ultimately creating a brighter future for the girls supported by the Vancity Girls Club and the broader community.

 

MIKHAIL MOORE, DIRECTOR AT LARGE

Mikhail Moore, a Director at Camp Choice BC and President of Vitacore, balances his professional endeavors with his role as a father of five. He steered Vitacore to manufacture the first Canadian-made, Health Canada-approved medical respirators. His commitment to sustainability led to the "Planet Impact" initiative, recycling hard-to-recycle plastics. Beyond his corporate and environmental achievements, Moore is a dedicated community member, often serving as a guest speaker at the East End Boys Club, where he shares his experiences and encourages youth leadership and empowerment. His life reflects a blend of innovation, family, and community service.

 

VERONICA PATRICELLI, DIRECTOR AT LARGE

Veronica Patricelli, a resilient individual who empathizes with those facing adversity, draws on personal experiences to provide support through BC Camp Choice Society. A UVic School of Nursing graduate, Veronica has served as an Ed nurse, driven by a passion to make a positive impact, even if for just a few moments, on others' lives. Alongside partner John Patricelli, she ventured into real estate, discovering a network of collaborative individuals committed to making a difference. With a goal to contribute added value and leadership to those touched by Camp Choice, Veronica aspires to foster a mindset change and create meaningful impact.

 

DARCY SCHLECHTLEITNER, DIRECTOR AT LARGE

Darcy is an individual who possesses a deep passion for giving and making a positive impact. Having been a youth at risk herself during her teenage years, the Vancity Girls Club holds a special place in her heart. In addition to being a dedicated mother, Darcy is a top-producing REALTOR® who excels in her profession. She lives a life filled with adventure and consistently seeks opportunities to contribute to her community. Darcy's personal experiences and empathetic nature drive her commitment to supporting the girls club and empowering young girls to overcome challenges and thrive. Her enthusiasm and dedication are truly inspiring, as she combines her successful career with her unwavering commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
